Maple River Golf Club has lost a great friend.

We lost a longtime Member and great friend of MRGC.  Ken Toop was playing in the NAU Country Insurance event at Maple River today (Friday July, 18th) and suffered what appears to be a massive heart attack on the golf course.  He was taken to Innovis hospital and passed away early this afternoon.  Please keep Ken's Family in your thoughts as they cope with this great loss.

MRGC 27-hole 2-person Triple Event This Sunday.  T-times start at 9am.

Sunday July 20th starting at 9am.  The format will be 9-holes Best Ball, 9-holes Scramble, and 9-holes Alternate shot.  Cost is $30/Non-Members and $20/Members.  Carts are not included in entry fee.  Please call 701-282-5415 to register.

MRGC Fundraiser A HUGE success!

Thank you to all of you that made the 2008 Fundraiser a huge success!  From everyone one that donated items and those of you that won the auctions... you helped us raise over $12,000 dollars!  Tha is up $5,000 from 2007!  The golf was good except for the 35mph winds all day long.  The money raised has purchased a new Welder, 2 Trimmers, and an additional fairway mower.  We will be making some updates to the Clubhouse as well in the coming months.  Again, THANK YOU to everyone that participated in this event and helped make it a huge success!

MRGC Stroke Play Club Championship Results.

Reid Mattson's final round 76 was good enough for a come-from-behind victory to claim his 3rd Club Championship (His first two were in the Match Play championships in 2006 and 2005).  Reid started the day 2 strokes back of Matt Western and one stroke back of Brian Benson.  After a tough first day of golf with the winds blowing upwards of 40mph and rain/drizzle all day, Sunday's sunny and breezy conditions allowed for a tight race on the back nine.  After making the turn, there were 5 people with in a couple strokes of the leader.  Reid hung on and played steady golf to come out on top once again.  Congrats Reid on another solid performance under pressure!
